I am a little confused by compatibility of graphic cards FOR 3DS Max Plugin,
so if anyone can give me a hint would be really helpful.
I´ve installed the newest version of Octanerender for 3DMax running 3Dmax2018
I need a performance increase and was looking for the RTX 2080 ti as a second card to replace one of my 2 Titan X
In a yt videos I saw benchmark test withing that card but I also read the RTX doesnt work with the Max plugins.
?? Yes/No, and if not what is my best option to update in that price range of the RTX RTX 2080 ti..?
Thnaks a lot!

good day Guys,
RTX cards are supported by the latest versions of V4 and 2018. For now what You get is 300-350 from OctaneBench using 2080ti, so it is a fast card to start with.
In the future proper optimizations for RTX cards are going to come and You will get anything from 10 to 700% speed improvement based on the scene You will be rendering. To read more about this and run some early test You can follow this link: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=71067&fbclid=IwAR1Q ... d-FhPbJaX0

Does my Octane 4 Studio subscription support RTX optimizations a now and in the future?
Octane 4 is already highly optimized for RTX Turing GPUs, and scores 25% higher than 3.08, and fully supports out of core rendering without NV Link being needed.
Further RT Core acceleration with Vulkan - as well as NV Link support - are experimental today and beyond the V4 release. These features will be made fully available first through Enterprise annual subscriptions which are also $20 /Month ( $16.59/ Month through the end of the year) but require that you have first made a one time purchase of OctaneRender Standalone+DCC Enterprise (either Combo or All-access bundle) from the purchase page. The All Access Bundle comes with 1 or more years included.
Experimental Single GPU support with Vulkan-RT Core acceleration is planned for studio subscriptions in 2019 - further details will be finalized closer to the release.

2080Tis, 2080/2070, Titan RTX and Quadro RTX cards are already working and working really good - those are all among the fastest cards available.ThaRaven wrote:https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=71351
and support is only comming to Octane 2019 which is Subscription.
Full acceleration will come with 2019, but now new cards are working fine.

A. You can get monthly subscription (20$/month) and this will give You up to two cards, latest build, not NVLINK, no network rendering - goo for new user that do not own any licence yet
B. get permanent licence + annual extension and this will give You everything (NVLINK, support for up to 40 cards, network rendering, extra render node, all access, ORC subscription)
for any existing user Annual Extension (200$/year) makes more sense as You get all the benefits (Extra render node, up to 40 cards, ORC subscription) and more features (network rendering, offline dongle support, NVLINK support) than paying monthly subscription (20$/month).
id rather pay 150€ for am update to v2019 with a permanent license then 20€ every month when im not even using octane every month. id like to chose when im updating since updating the rendere always changes stuff so previous scenes render differently for example so having the latest and greatest does not work for me.. also im only using a single gpu and only usw Max so all DCC PLugins... i dont care.. Otoy should also think about the Little guy who only bought it for "fun" but also would like RTX Acceleration without going Subscription.

I'd like licensing system like in old days... It was clear : You have octane, yes or no.
