AF through transparent materials?

Hi guys, not sure if it is just my problem but is there a way to use AutoFocus through transparent objects without going manual? Some kind of flag on material so its ignored for AF pick? This is especially annoying when using lights that i set to opacity 0 but they still get picked up by AF. With simple 3 light setup around character the character is never in focus when trying various camera shots using AF since the lights are around him.
