Hi, As I have currently some difficulties to create the surrounding for my Police Station scene, while still studying various types of buildings and other props, I have spent some time focusing on a small part of the scene, and rendered this letter box that I modelled recently using reference images, as usually. Here in france, Letter boxes are very different !

I have leaved volunteerly few details missing, as this prop is not expected to be seen in very close up in my final scene : The foundry trade mark is usually molded on the top of each side, and there are few screws (that can be hidden under the paint if the box has been re-painted).

Some details could certainly be improved, mainly textures scales in some areas, but I thought that it was enough advanced to put it here.

Feel free to pull me back in the WIP area if you don't think so ! ;)

Rendered with 2.2, fireflies removed in Photoshop Elements.

On the first image, the window had no texture. As it will be seen from distance, I had not added a texture to save some memory. Now, I have given it a texture already used, so no more memory space needed. I have tried to add some painting grain. Doors are generally only verniced, but windows more often painted to avoid re-vernicing them often, as the sun damages the vernice very fast.

These renders done in pre 2.3 v5, with different sun direction.

Did you notice the trade mark of the air conditionner ? ;)

AhAh ! You are right ! :)

New lighting. The Anti-fireflies filter in 2.3 v5 seems to be efficient !
