Great to hear! I did some small revisions to eliminate some process for faster response. Knowing the how it works that's very important for me, because I'll keep what I did.BCres wrote:Well, I can say one thing that impresses me is the speed of this new version and the reponse in the LV.aoktar wrote:Let's hear positive feedbacks too, please. It's important to see that about the future of development.
I just upgraded yesterday and haven't had a chance to try out all the new features (i.e. Cryptomatte), but just being able to install 2018, open up old projects and pick up were I left off—but with much faster rendering—is enough for me.
Thank you, aoktar! Your support is second to none.

RAM. I may make you a video showing how resources are being demanded as I change image output resolution.aoktar wrote:RAM or VRAM you mean?Kalua wrote:Thanks for such a quick plugin response.
Issues seems to be away. I am still testing it in my production pipeline.
One general question, not related speciffically to this plugin build: changing the render resolution output not only takes longer to render but it alsos demand lots more of RAM... is this the normal behavior? (for example 8K resolution demands double RAM as for 4K)
Thank you for your great support, Aoktar!

I used 2018.1.2 for a few hours last night and it performed well. I love OSL.
The one caveat is that I could not use network rendering w/the latest version. The master could not see the slave. It was configured the same as before and I insured matching (enterprise) versions.

Hi!
Does this version improve the new Volumetric Spotlight? I tried on the last build and the centre of the spotlight was dark and everything around the edge was bright (with a big falloff). I documented the issues I had here in case that's not clear:

Thanks

I am enterprise customer and I've been happily using network rendering w/previous versions of 2018. But this latest version doesn't work. I triple checked that I downloaded correct enterprise version. And I double checked my installation/configuration. Used default settings.
Check your firewall and antivirus software. Disable for testing.Iceman9 wrote:To be clear: I am mostly happy with Octane and v2018.
Regarding network rendering. I don't know if it's a plugin-in issue or not.
