I have been trying to find out info regarding local network rendering, I can see 2018/19 enterprise licences give you a single slave licence (but locked to that build?).
My situation is this, I hold 5 V4 licences and a few C4D plug ins. We regularly pull on all machines to help render overnight.
I cannot see anywhere if this is still possible in 2018/19, maybe its just the very confusing way it is written but this is important to me and I dont want to loose the ability to network render all machines internally on a single job.
Can anyone clear this up for me before I invest in upgrades for 2018, because I dont see clear info that I can still do this.

Thanks.

Hi,
you need to upgrade your c4d licenses, with associated Standalone, to Enterprise All-Access to be able to use v2018 and higher, by purchasing the annual maintainance from the following links:
one year 199$
two years 399$

With the annual maintenance you have several advantages like:
  • - access to multiple DCC plugins from OctaneRender Studio including Maya, AutoCAD, Revit, Houdini, Blender, 3ds Max, After Effects, Nuke, Unity, and soon, Unreal Engine.
  • - get continuous access to all future updates and new features beyond OctaneRender 4, including NVLink (available in Octane 2018.1 - XB1) and full Vulkan-RTX hardware acceleration on Turing GPUs coming in Octane 2019.
  • - a secondary render slave node for Network rendering, plus access to the ORC cloud rendering service.
In this way you can use the extra Slave Standalone licenses on the other machines.
Network rendering has been removed only in the Studio licenses 2018/2019.
Regular commercial licenses don’t have any restriction.

Thanks for the reply,
Still not 100% clear, If I have 3 enterprise annual licence 'users' does that mean 6 possible machines to render on a single job?

Yes correct, each Enterprise license has also a Slave machine, so with 3x AA Enterprise bundles, you have also 3x Slave licenses, for a total of 6 machines for Network rendering.
