Hi everybody,

I'm testing this build over a network, and I can't seem to find a way to enable NetRender. On older builds there was an executable that you had to run on the slave machines but that is gone now. Could anyone help me with the setup?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
you need an Enterprise license to be able to use Network rendering with 2018, Studio licenses have Network rendering disabled, and limited to max 2x GPUs in 2018.
By the way, this version is outdated, here is the link to the latest stable version:

Hi,

Thanks for your answer Beppe. Just to clarify things, as I'm a bit lost: I've bought v3 back in the day as a Standalone + C4D Plugin combo and I bought another standalone so I can use NetRender. Does this whole convert to a Studio or an Enterprise license now? I heard 2019 will be a paid upgrade but is 2018 as well?

Thanks for helping me out,
Csaba

Hi,
you have an Enterprise Combo license, so you need to upgrade your license to Enterprise All-Access to be able to use v2018 and higher, by purchasing the annual mantainance from the following links:
one year = 199$ https://render.otoy.com/shop/upgrade.ph ... 45-UD1AOSE
two years = 399$ https://render.otoy.com/shop/upgrade.ph ... 45-UE2AOSE

With the annual maintenance you have several advantages like:
  • Octane 'All-Access' Enterprise subscription plans can access multiple DCC plugins from OctaneRender Studio - including Maya, AutoCAD, Revit, Houdini, Blender, 3ds Max, After Effects, Nuke, Unity, and soon, Unreal Engine.
  • For perpetual licence/enterprise customers, All-Access plans further grant a secondary render slave node plus access to the ORC cloud rendering service.
  • Get continuous access to all future updates and new features beyond OctaneRender 4, including NVLink (available in Octane 2018.1 - XB1) and full Vulkan-RTX hardware acceleration on Turing GPUs coming in Octane 2019.
So updating your Combo license you get also the extra Slave license, and all the future upgrades.

ciao Beppe
