I have seen a lot of posts when octane crashes when the scene is rendered ti render queue... I have the opposite case - when i render my scene to picture viewer, the render is very slow (i mean slow initialization). After 5 minutes of initialization, it consumes all system RAM and then crashes. When i render the scene to render queue - everything renders fine - RAM usage never exceeds 60%...
I am using octane 4.02.1-R3, GTX1070Ti, 16gb RAM...
Yeah, 16gbs is not that big, but it looks like the problem isnt RAM - in render queue everything renders fine. I have also tried to destroy all Forester parametric grass and trees in the scene - crashes when rendering to PV still persists...
octane 4.02.1-R3 - crashes when renders to PV, RQ works fine

UPDATE:
NO crash at all when all FOrester objects are made editable.
It looks lica octane uses too much RAM when forester parametric primitives are scattered...
I am not that proffessional to figure out should it be this way or not, but 2018.1 and 4.02.1-R3 render everything fine when forester trees and grass are editable.

Be aware of different triangle counts of generator objects LV vs. PV. It's same as Editor vs. Render different.
Also try to use render-instances or multi-instances if possible, it will decrease triangle and object counts in total.
