Hi all
I'm looking for a budget piece of software for animating a title intro (3d text) with some kind of 3d effects and a bone (skeleton) based toon... need something that can import into octane commercial for rendering...
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
recommend compatible animator for octane

Yes, with Blender you can create 3d text objects.

Andrew Price had a tutorial series on 3D Typography in Blender at http://www.blenderguru.com/. While only one covers some form of animation (no rigging), the others show how to do cool effects with text in Blender. There's some good rigging tutorials (not on text) at http://www.blendercookie.com/ which should give you the knowledge you need to rig your text and do what you want with it.
