Anyone else experiencing issues with either Motion Blur, Camera Imager/Denoiser? For some reason my most recent render is randomly rendering a white flash/flare in the scene on various frames. The location of this white flash/flare can appear anywhere and sometimes it can be more than one flare.

We are getting white flashes in the denoised images as well! Using the latest stable realease and Nvidia Driver 417.71.
As you can see in the attached image the flashes only occur on the denoised image.
UPDATE: This only seems to happen when using the Direct Lightning Kernel as our Pathtracing renderings are coming out fine with the denoiser as far as we can tell.
UPDATE 2: We just found one rendering where it also happened with the Pathtracing Kernel. So disregard the aforementioned limitation to the DL Kernel.

I think the issue is that Denoiser is mostly trained with Path Tracing kernel and its just not usable with DL kernel.

Hi, looks like I found the reason.
After removing Instance object it seems to be working ok.
Dont know why that's went wrong still.

I don't know what's happening on you! Share some fullscreen pictures to show itmiohn wrote:Hi Ahmet,
again please!
Don't know, if this was mentioned before, but here with the latest version
(...R3) image in LV gets blurred sometimes without any reason.

Hi Ahmet,
already went back to R2 which works very nice here!
Can only describe what was going on there.
Without having set any thinslens-camera-parameters for DOF (of course), it happened, that when navigating/dolling
in the C4D-viewport, in the LV-Window the object was getting totally blurred sometimes.
Reloading/resendeng etc. didn't solve that.
But from time to time, when zooming out it got sharp again. And vice versa.
Sorry, but thats all I can report!
If nobody else having this isue, the problem was maybe in a special scene, I gess.

Problem updating textures - if I replace the source of a texture with an updated file of the same name (overwrite), C4D/Octane still uses the old version, even though that's not on the hard drive! Are these cached somewhere?
In this case, retail commercial with price points, I change the prices in the source graphics, Octane should updated. Close C4D/reopen... no luck.
In texture node, thumbnail looks correct but clicking "edit" brings up the OLD image!
Very confused! Too many textures to create new ones. Why won't these update and use the graphic on disk?
Cheers

It's having a texture caching system but not storing in disk. It's a temporary caching. Your problem should be about having another file with SAME FILENAME in ANOTHER PATH.sbstnc wrote:Problem updating textures - if I replace the source of a texture with an updated file of the same name (overwrite), C4D/Octane still uses the old version, even though that's not on the hard drive! @miohn: I don't aware of this kind of problem. Cannot know what we're talking about without seeing better information. Sorry!
