It would be great to have a proper Gradient/Ramp texture node like is available in Max/Maya and probably every other package. It's an extremely useful thing to have.
Yes, I know there is some circuitous method in which you can plug a saw wave texture into the Octane gradient and fiddle with the UV transforms to get it to do kinda what you want, but that's a hack.
