Hi XYZ-Animation,
Hi SamuelAB,
I asked to developers, if it possible something like C4D fog using cube and noise texture node, but I have not info about their do-list priority.

Paride

If you mean Spectron (the fast spotlights, volume lights), that's being worked on for 2018.1/2019.1. The standalone can already generate spotlights in 2018.1, but we have a few pieces to add before stable to enable it in the plug-ins. 2019.1 will bundle more built in spectron lights and vectron objects/operators, and others can add even more via scripting/OSL. 2018.1 also has scattering depth in the kernel (set it to 1 to force fast SSS/volumes) and also is much less noisy in general when rendering volumes.
I think you guys promised clouds in the daylight system. I read it in the youtube comment. Hopefully it is coming out one day.Goldorak wrote:If you mean Spectron (the fast spotlights, volume lights), that's being worked on for 2018.1/2019.1. What I don't understand is why you don't wont to understand what fog is or should be.
Let me explain I like to have controle over the amount of fog over the distance: nearby say 20 meters and infinity, like as in the 3ds max system.
picture youre self in the middle of a sphere with a gradual falloff towards its borders. Nearby there is no fog and far far away is a lot. That should not be ferry difficult for you to implement? Controle over atmospherics is quit important I think.
I hope sincerely that you're developers are take a serious look at this.

Hi XYZ-Animation,
just to clarify: "Fog is a visible aerosol consisting of tiny water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the air at or near the Earth's surface. Fog can be considered a type of low-lying cloud" (wiki).
You are talking about an anvironment atmosphere and Octane (and Octane for 3dSMax )has this feature.
This topic refers around creating fog using a noise map. In Octane for C4D you can create volumetric fog assigning a noise map to a simple volume cube.
I asked to developers to add this feature in Octane for 3dSMax too.

Hi paride4331,
Thanx for letting me know what fog is. I live in one of the foggiest countries in the world! The Netherlands
Am I the only one who is complaining about the fog? Maybe you should make a little video tutorial to teach us how to make a good fog with the octane plugin in 3ds max? That would be nice. Maybe can you post a few files like the theapot one.
