So I seem to have a bit of an issue with rendering my current scene.
Im rendering with the current stable versions of the c4d plugin and standalone , which it wouldn't render in that also.
It seems to not want to load my scene, and when it did load and render it barely used any of my 1080tis vram as theres maybe 7 4k textures in the scene . Its made up of a lot of unique objects though so i cant really instance or scatter them.
its not even that highpoly of geo also, most of it is primitive geo with a light subd fillet.
Is there an issue with octane loading scenes with lots of objects? does octane not like the symmetry object? I've tried a scene with merged symmetry and it still wouldn't render though.
Has anybody had this issue before? been trying to overcome this issue for the last couple days.
im running c4d r18, Octane 4.02.1r2, standalone 4.01.1
2 1080tis, i5 8600k 32g/ram
when i render with less objects it will work. when this first started ahppening i merged down all the objs that i knew i wanted and that helped the scene render for a little bit longer, which got me to the point im at in the image above. now i have some of the centre main structure and the some of the middle area done and its back to not rendering again.
I tried to export to standalone this morn before i head for work but it didnt seem to work, unless im missing somehting to do that. the scene loaded into it but i only got a grey viewport with nothing in it, all my geo nodes and everything were there in the node editor on the botttom.
I've also tried merging all my symmetries/cloners/booleans,etc so all my scene had left was basic geo, which i even added the objtag too.
I wonder if I should just try merging a ton of it together and see what happens, then just back track when i go and work on it more..
Heres latest render of scene for context
scene not rendering with a lot of basic geo

No and No! What does mean that's not rendering? I'm seeing render output.refriedspinach wrote: Is there an issue with octane loading scenes with lots of objects? does octane not like the symmetry object? I've tried a scene with merged symmetry and it still wouldn't render though.

Thats the last scene i was able to render before it wouldnt render anymore. I added more geo detail to it and it stopped being able to render, itll start the process of doing its conversion, calculations, whatever it does before it actually opens the scene and renders it, itll stay in that state until i close c4d, I even left it overnight to see if it would render but it was still in that state.
