Hi
In the image attached you can see that I have 8Gb of VRAM but octane is not using all of it instead it uses out of core. is there a reason?
Also these are 2080TI Does windows 10 still eat 3 GB of vram?
Thanks
Why does octane use RAM when there is enough VRAM

Hi coilbook,
out-of-core tool manage autonomously when using Ram, probably in your case there are very large geometries and/or textures that can not be allocated in VRAM so Octane switches them to Ram.
Windows 10 unfortunately eats 18% VRam available.

8 GB is after windows 10 took 18% because each card is 11 Gb of vram. It's strange that it just didn't use 7.3 Gb out of 8 available
That depends on which programs you have running besides Octane. Use GPU-Z to check the real Vram usage.coilbook wrote:8 GB is after windows 10 took 18% because each card is 11 Gb of vram. It's strange that it just didn't use 7.3 Gb out of 8 available
