Hi LW Guru,

Thanks for sharing this.

Have you ever tried to get "realistic" grass with Vectron ?

Every since Vectron was unveiled, I have been trying to think of anything really that I could ever use it for. And thus has kinda seemed to me that Otoy resources could have been put to better use... BUT, if it could do photo-realistic grass and take ZERO memory, I'd say +1,000,000 to that! Especially if it could be made on any terrain, and not just a flat plane...

I have seen in the introduction video some grass and other real things examples.
The fact is since first 2018 beta release I have only seen mendelbrot or bloby things :(

Seems to be the Otoy way of doing things - show a glimpse of amazing looking features then do a half arsed release with no instructions, samples or explanations.

C'mon Otoy - if you no point in developing these tools if you don't follow them up with how the hell artists can use them.

Look to Redshift if you need an idea of how to roll out a feature properly.

If I understand correctly, we have to learn OSL to generate what we want ?

Hey, that Vectron thing could make a really bitchin' cable knit sweater! I'll have to check this thing out! Can you convert geo to Vectron, or does it all need to be procedural?
Nope, everything must be procedural, from OSL code, as far as I know.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
