Hello,
LW 2019 + Octane 4.02 : NRC render doesn't start
Do i miss something ?

LW 2019 + Octane 4.02 : NRC render doesn't start

Are you talking about the LightWave native NRC introduced in LW2018? As far as I know, this tool works over LWSN, so the main question is that if as a starting point the classic LWSN is configured to work with Octane on the render nodes.
To be honest, I've never tried to configure the LW NRC tool here. I'm not sure if anybody else has tried it, but if someone has any experience with it, any help is welcome
Thanks,
-Juanjo

Thanks for your answer : yes i'm talking about the native NRC, working with the NRC controller.
in fact i dropped NRC too with lw2018 and i loosed many time to try to configure it, in vain because it was'nt working at 100% (with the 1st versions of lw2018, the automated queue-system didn't work, only the 1st scene rendered)
but now, in lw 2019, it works very well and it is very usefull because it can render a queue-list and we can add scene to render directly while it is rendering, the new scene is added to the Q-list and it renders after the previous one is finished...
... perfect for night rendering
If i remember well, is there a octane CFG to put somewhere to define the octane node ? (but i work on a singlecomputer, without network)
Could someone give me an exemple of this cfg file ?
thanks
:EDIT:
Juanjo, if you want to configure NRC, you have to create a "plugin/window" directory at the root of the LW directory, copy all the plugins contained in the 'support/plugins' native LW2019 directory & finally the point the "shared plugin directory" to this dir, in the NRC controller app : that is the main (and poorly documented) difficulty to make it work, but after this, the NRC contrioler validate at 100% your config and now it works. In NRC prefs, you have to enable all the tasks to make the automatic queue-render active.

You have the details about how to configure LWSN in this post:

Hi,
I've been talking with several experimented LightWave users, and the consensus is that the NRC tool has a lot of problems and it is not ready to be used in production at all, even in LightWave 2019. I'm fairly sure that with all these problems, probably the Octane plugin is not going to work. I'll try to check it, but you should think about another render controller if you need something robust for batch or network rendering.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

Thanks a lot
on my side, i sent a bug report to the LW team, they answered me very quickly and completly, and said NRC was only designed for the native renderer, but they will send it as a feature request, so perhaps they will contact you about this...
On my side, i never encountered issues with NRC & LW2019.0.1, but i did'nt render many scenes (animations) with it, & there were simple ones...
Thanks again for your support, highly appreciated, as usual

2019.1
not resolved
((
It renders only the first frame but I think NRC doesn't understand the service started the render and always stays in "starting sequence".
Very very pity.
