not sure if you can do this in octane - (can be done in V-ray)

is it possible to control the intensity of colour bounce from and object?

on the example image , can i turn down the amount of red that the yellow ground receives,

You might want to look into the cool stuff Milan has been doing with the RayType attribute in OSL shaders. I'm guessing that you can get close to what you want by treating the direct rays and indirect rays differently.

Hi

Yes, we can do that in Octane. :)

That's the most basic and popular use case for ray switching. With this simple OSL shader it's even more flexible than some builtin solutions I've seen. You can use it to mix different materials but also to change individual parameters (like color or texture) of one material based on diffuse bounce rays.

I'm preparing a post for that topic based on your example and I'll try to explain how it works and how to set up the nodes.
