Does the Forester Multicloner work directly with Octane (and if so, how?) or must we use Octane Scatter instead?

That's great, Ahmet! Sadly, I can't get the objects to render, even though it draws properly in the viewport. I am working on very little sleep and likely missed something. Is there a documentation link that covers what one needs to do in order for Octane to see it?

I only see the original object in the live viewer. None of the clones appear. In the standard viewport, the clones are visible. I have an Octane tag on the clones and on the multicloner (and have also tried just a single tag on each, same result: only the original tree is rendered, and only when the multi-instance setting is used. I'm using the latest version of Forester and Octane 4, as well as R20. I have searched elsewhere online for the proper setup to use Forester and Octane, and I appear to be following all of the steps correctly. Still only the original tree is rendered.

OK, I stripped off all of the tags, and re-applied to the tree only. Then I went through the Multicloner instance settings again, and Render Instance worked this time. Perhaps some sort of initialization issue?

What versions are you using? You don't need object tag or so. You need latest builds I believe, because It's working on me with multi-instance too.

I'm current on everything.

To wrap this up, I believe I now understand what occurred. I will not usually set Octane in the Render Settings until I get to the stage of the project where I actually need to render something out. Until then, I just use the Live View. In this stage, Forester does not produce clones, just the initial item when Live View is up, even if the clones are full drawn in the viewport. Once I enabled Octane in the Render Settings, everything worked as expected.

This is by no means anything I would consider a bug. Instead, it is just a quirk of the way I work. As I render exclusively in Octane, and have done so since 2015, I am going to see if I can just make Octane the default render. Failing that, I will make adjustments in my "new.c4d" file to address the issue that way, so I do not run into this again. The fog of production can make things less clear...

Yes, if you save OctaneRender as default render in Render Settings of the .new file, you should solve the issue.

I could not get any problems with multicloner. Please capture a video to show it!

I'm experiencing a problem between octane render (2018.1) and Forester on C4D, I think Forester doesn't recognise "Instance" and "render Instance" in the multicloner, it seems to only support the new "multi-instance". Has anybody experienced it before ?
