simply cause the new manual points to the page of 197.13 drivers as raccomandation, but different comments in release candidate 5 thread talks about 258.96....

For Windows 258.96 is suitable for pre2.3v5.
Its not usually necessary to clean when changing a driver unless you already have some problems that you suspect might be caused by some old bits having not been removed.
