Amplify shaders within Octane for Unity?
Moderator: ChrisHekman
I am trying to find a way to use Amplify Shader in Octane for Unity... As far as i can see Octane for Unity doesn't support Amplify Materials, as objects with an amplify material appear invisible in octane for unity but standard unity materials display fine. I was just wondering if there is a way to make a change to the Amplify Output node in order to get the materials to display in octane? Praying for future support if not. Thanks!

We currently support the default shaders, and we are looking into supporting HDRP shaders.
Do you mean the Amplify shader node editor plugin? if so, than we are not planning in supporting third party plugins.

The decision to not support ASE with Octane is such a poor decision. Almost all my projects use ASE. The regular shaders from Unity are just very poor.

ASE is a very good plugin. However supporting any third party plugins is ill-adviced because of numerous technical issues. It is not really a decision on our part.meierdesigns wrote:The decision to not support ASE with Octane is such a poor decision. Almost all my projects use ASE. I agree that the regular shaders are limited in scope. We have added octane override materials to give users the ability to add more complex and dynamic materials.
Seeing the bad news, I feel that my project can no longer continue to use OC. Artists want to use more custom shaders to complete the project. Some special effects are often done by artists, not programmers. Without ASE, this increases the cost of small teams and limits the use of art. At least you can offer similar products. I think this job is great.

We support customizable materialss via the Octane Override materials. If these materials are not suited to your problem, could you explain what you are missing?
