Example Hair from diffuse color
(333.08 KiB) Downloaded 139 times
Hi,
please see the attached file. It generates hair color from diffuse chanel in the glossy mat.

I now want to have the same color of hairs just with a specular mat so I can give the Hair additional variation and translucency.

Is there a way to do that?

Thx!

Hi,
you need to cut the diffuse channel before trasforming into Specular material, and paste it in the Transmission channel, piped into a Color Correction node with Power at 4, then add some Absorption and Scattering in the Medium node to give volume, then enable the Fake Shadow option to let the light coming in:

Ah great! I appreciate your help there.

I did not expect to crank up the brightness to 4 or so...seemed unnatural to me but it works!
