Has this been addressed yet?
I was testing Octane out on two systems, and was immediately put off by how bad C4D lagged with the live viewer running. Even a new scene with a cube in it is choppy. I tried changing priorities and enabled cards, no change. Standalone runs fine.
One system is an iMac with 1080ti eGPU, the other a 5,1 tower with 3x 1080ti.

Same here. Huge lag on even a cube and a single HDR image. Tried the .01 update but still slow to load. Wondering if it could be cuda related? Updated to the latest mac drivers

Most of you guys are with eGPU on OSX. How much is your FPS with and without Live Viewer rendering?fluxcapacitor wrote:Same here. Huge lag on even a cube and a single HDR image. Tried the .01 update but still slow to load. Wondering if it could be cuda related? Updated to the latest mac drivers

Hi Aoktar,
With a new scene, cube primitive, panning left right continuously I get 70-120 in the C4D viewport.
With Octane IPR running, 7-14.
The RS IPR in comparison gets 70-100.
This is on a 5,1 with 2x 1080ti
10.12.6
Nvidia 378.05.05.25f01
CUDA 387.178
R20
I can try some other systems tomorrow (eGPUs, other 5,1s). The same issue occurred on an iMac '14 (TB2 I believe) with eGPU.

Just mentioning i have the same issue updating to 4.01 after 3.08.
whenever i change to the viewport, whole pc starts lagging. I noticed it because its the same scene i'm working in. not sure if its the drivers or something else.
im working on a i7-8700 , 1080ti + 970, 32gb ram
**EDIT**
I rolled back to older drivers of Nvidia and this seems to have helped the problem , still a little bit laggy, but not as much as before.
