I try the brand new layered materials and I can only say that are sooo AW-wait4it-SOME that I want to give you guys in refractive a big virtual hugh!!
Also try the new hotpixel removal tool.
In this scene the model is not quite important for my test, I selected this one from the library above because it could generate some interesting curved reflections to measure de energy loss.
The most important thing is the floor plane that is a simple one with a multilayered material that even include a textured light material, and the fast convergetion of the noise. NODES+MIX MATERIAL=PURE RENDER ENERGY...
