Hi folks,
i tried a lot, searched a lot, but i can´t find the solution:
Szenario: Rendering any scene with activated denoiser.
Goal: Save alle necessary passes, the denoised beauty and the undenoised beauty too.
Problem: everything gets saved in the correct folder, but the undenoised beauty is not. Or as variation i can save my beauty but not my denoised beauty aswell.
Is somebody able to post the setting for saving both passes. Seperate and/or in an PSDfile would be helpful.
Thank you for your time,
Chris

COuld you please explain that what does "couldn't saved" means here?
Saved a denoised image with black results or no any file saved?
Here is related page from manual: http://www.aoktar.com/octane/AIDenoiser.html

Hi Aoktar,
thanks for responding!
I am unsure, if I missunderstood something:
Of course i can save the desired pass as it should, meaning the saved file looks as a beauty or denoised beauty should look like.
But: I thought it would be usefull to blend them afterwards in the post as needed. Right now i understood i have to choose in advance in the rendersettings how much i would like to blend them. I want both passes (1. undenoised and 2. denoised with Blend "1") saved as layers or seperate files to blend them in the post. Or is this blending a more complicated process than just an overlay in like in photoshop? Perhaps my approach does make no sence....
I really appreciate your constant work an octane. Hope not to steal your time.
Thanks a lot,
Chris

Exactly what I'm trying to do. Save one pass without denoising and one pass with denoising so I can control the amount in post. I it possible or not?Chriz wrote:Hi Aoktar,

The only way I found to do this is to use the AOV groups, but just render a simple beauty pass.
Set the main octane render settings to render a normal noisy image. ie dont turn on denoising.
Then under the "Render AOV Group" tab, enable "save beauty" and below that turn on "denoised beauty"
Now to get the files out of c4d, use the regular save tab to save out the noisy standard render, and then under the Octane Render AOV group page, set a second filename in there for the denoised render.
DONT use the multipass save settings, this does nothing in octane 2021+ (it used to work in older versions, but was removed I believe) The other thing to keep in mind, using the AOV's requires c4d's multipass setting to be enabled, this in turn will force your standard render to be rendered in linear colour space, so you will need to render to 16bit and then convert or interpret the footage accordingly afterwards.
If anyone has a simpler method than this, then I am all ears.

It should not be so complicated
