Hi,

Has anyone got Octane 4 working with a mesh volume object?
So, Procedural volumetrics mode / Mesh volume shape? If I use cube or sphere modes it works (although the sphere looks like a cube to me) but with Mesh I get nothing.

On LW 2018.0.3.

Thanks,
Matt

The mesh volumes only work with triangulated meshes. It doesn't support objects with quads or ngons, so perhaps this is your problem.

Hi, old thread but i'm interested in same topic.
Any tutorial around about this feature ?
I add a tripled cube, set Volume object as proceduram/mesh as above but nothing happens, it renders nothing.
How to get to a "cloud" inside cube using procedurals, for example ?

thanks
Paolo

Hi sorry! returning to an old thread here.
I am having trouble creating a mesh volume in Lightwave with Octane render.
I create a simple sphere object, triple the polys and bring into layout. I set up a basic Octane scene with the render targets etc.
Then select my sphere mesh click into object properties, then in appearance menu select 'LWOctane volumetric options', in the options for this plug in, I select 'Procedural' and in Procedural options I select mesh. But then in the IPR, the sphere object just disappears. Any ideas where I am going wrong with this process?

Many thanks
Ross
