Hopefully this is a fairly easy question to answer. I remember seeing when Octane 4 was first announced that Plugins would be free for users with licenses. I currently have a license for Standalone/Rhino and after dealing with it for 3 years I really want to make the jump to C4D. Does anyone know if this free licensing will be implemented soon? I'm hesitant to buy the C4D plugin for $270 if it is going to be gratis at some point soon. Sorry if this was mentioned already, I dredged through about 20 pages of the forum and didn't see anything.

All V4 OctaneStudio subscription plug-ins next year can be used with one licence if you sign up for annual all-access pass - currently 25% off through black Friday on the shop page.

So in other words, no plugins will not be free. You'll have to buy an annual subscription. Is that right?

I've been waiting for this too for a long time! It was clearly stated that any standalone+plug-in owner would have access to all the plug-ins with its limitations like 2 GPU etc.
Just upgraded my licenses to v4 from v3, everything seems allright and my C4D plugin works just fine but I want to try it with other applications.
Did I miss something and got this all wrong? Should we pay extra for this type of access?

That’s correct. If you want access to all the plugins, you have to buy a subscription. Any plugins that you already bought you’ll still have access to wether you buy a subscription or not.

I must say this is very very unfair. I don't like this kind of politics ( 2GPU + all plugins for free). And this situation with black friday and release of v4.
If this is how Otoy treat old customers and new one also, then how it will be looks like in future?

I don’t know what is unfair, but please explain clearly so we can understand.

Also, please make sure to read the FAQ first: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69646
