But an 8800 is extremely slow compared to GTX460/70/80. I have no Mac as I like freedom, but I would assume it would be easy to get it working. After the Mac uses standard Chinese Foxconn products. It´s not really different from a pc, it´s just the software which plays hard to get to force people in a limited choice.
The GTX460 2GB has in my view the best performance value relation thanks to the large amount of ram.
