Radiance thanks for sharing your decision.
As customer what I'm expecting it's to be able to have fast, solid, and fireflies free rendering engine.

Personally I don't really care if the engine it's based on Mtl, Rtl, CCG, PFOGKDKEEKVIA or who knows.
i'm sure, 99% of your customer didn't know (like me) what it's really the difference between Mtl an Pt, but they look to see if the image it's cooked in time.

KEEP WORKING to create the first, stable, solid, GPU unbiased rendering engine!

First thank you very much for this fantastic render engine.
Is very impressive and fast compare (vray,Iray...)
I know we everyody waiting the 2.3 final but my only question is:
When we can use sun thru transparent material ? ;)
In 1 or 2 weeks or 1 or 2 month or more just to have an idear for starting project.

Thanks

The two things will come together: MLT "or similar" will automagically fix the transparency shadow thing.

The for me most important question is, will the new algorithm be bidirectional? Or to be more specific will it be possible to render a scene in a reasonable time with geometrically small light sources?
And will this in the upcoming v5 release?

Please say yes, then I will be able to participate the competition with a hopefully noise free picture!
