My question is very simple, I´ll buy octane for blender and the standalone today, but I have a doubt about this matter, I travel a lot and I manly use two computers to work on 3D stuff, one is my desktop that is more powerful and the other is my notebook that can handle easly Octane, so, can I install it on both computers?

Hi,
You can install Octane on 2 computers but you won't be able to use it simultaneously on both.
The license is only active on a single machine. You can however when you switch machines deactivate your account online and then re-activate it on another machine.
cheers,
Thomas

Hi philipni,
you have resumed a very old discussion
Octane v3/4 licenses are floating, and automatically deactivated on exit, ready to be instantly activated on another machine.
You can always manually deactivate all your licenses by pressing the Sign-out button in Standalone/File/Account panel.
The 5 web unlocks are necessary only in extreme cases, when the active machine has crashed, or no longer exists, due to a complete system reinstall, for example.
So you can install Octane on several different machines, but you can use your Combo licenses only on one machine at a time.
You need a Combo license Standalone + plugin for each machines that need to work simultaneously.
Happy GPU Rendering,
ciao Beppe

I wonder if this method works as well for Octane plugins (hope so).
Hi philipni,
yes sure, the same behavior is true also for plugin licenses.
If you have any kind of issues, please write to us at [email protected] with a screenshot of the error message you are having.
