is there any way to make the sun disc entirely invisible, but still ofcourse have it cast the light as usual?

edit: added the tag before i wrote this question because it didnt work. but then it seemed to try and update, then froze c4d.

Have you tried with a neutral HDRI sky in the Visible Environment?

thank you for the fast reply beppe, as usual.

i have seen some threads where hdr is recommended as a solution, but i have the lighting setup, exactly how i want it. i have a heavy and coloured environment fog aswell.
i fear that replicating the look might be too time consuming.

hoped for an easier fix, if there is none, i will reduce the scale od the sun and remove the dot in the post. or maybe try and hide it behind an object in the scene.

best,

Hi,
try to copy the environment node in a new empty scene then:
remove the medium,
create a camera at 0, 0, 0, in Panoramic/Equirectangular mode,
set the desired resolution in 2:1 aspect ratio,
render in EXR 32bit linear mode,
cancell the sun in PS,
use the image in the Visible Environment, or in the Mix texture slot of the Daylight environment.
