Hello, I seem to get very random, and unexplained rendering halts during the last percent of a render. Specially noticeable during animation....
I have noted that it is not scene dependant, not frame dependant, no gpu crashes, no memory issues....
You may render 20 or so frames and then, just before finishing frame 21, everything stops. This bug is old, i have noted this long time ago.
I can reboot everything, and it may fail again, or not.
Is there a way to render though the render passes bypasing completely the F10 render from Lightwave?
INTERESTING: if i click abort+continue on the render window, the frame actually is saved and rendering continues! so there is no actual failure or crash of Octane, it is the F10 render window or the way that Octane interfaces with it that has this random bug of not saving and advancing the frame....
Random Rendering Halts / stops during animation

Yes, sorry. I'm not sure when this limitation is going to be fixed. I think that there is going to be an option to have an offline licensing system using a dongle, but I'm not sure. In any case, could be possible for you at least test if this problem is fixed on these latest builds?asher wrote:3.08 and 4 wont work because it has no ofline licensing!
Thanks,

Yes, true, I think that this was one of the problems, but to be honest, I have never been sure about the source of the problem. All I know is that probably it is fixed now because I have not seen reports about it for a long time.Builtdown wrote:Hi,
Do you have a composited background?
I had some problems with that some time ago also at the last percent of the rendering.
Thanks,

Hmm, what a weird issue. Can you send me a scene to try to reproduce the problem here using your same setup? Could be useful also you know you GPUs configuration.asher wrote:reporting 3.08 also halts randomly
