Windows error code 126 can have multiple causes. Mostly related to not being able to find the dlls.
Do you have folder C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Octane\Unity\2017.1.0f3_1.0.0.918_T1\
When you start up the octane unity project do you get the following error message in the unity console?
"{libraryName} could not be found." or "OctaneUnity was not correctly installed."
Have you tried upgrading to OctaneUnity 1.0.0.963? (You should be getting a prompt, or you can upgrade in version control on the settings panel before you press load)
Note that in your unity thread you state you are using an "ATI GPU", and in this thread you are stating you are using nVidia?
This bug should not be related to a lack of an nVidia card, but you need a Cuda compatible nVidia card.

We have this problem currently with version 1337 on Unity 2017 LTS. Version 4.5f1 and 4.12f1. Version 1326 work fine. Problem only with latest version.
I tried just empty project. We got just 2 errors regarding OctaneUnity.dll and octane.dll. No warnings or any log messages.
Did you ever test your plugins before release? THEY ARE NOT WORKING on Unity 2017 LTS.
And we still get sharing violation error when installing version 1337. It is not fixed.
System: Windows 10 64bit

1.0.0.918 was a test release from August 2017, which can no longer be activated.AlanMattano wrote:Using Octane Plugin 1.0.0.918
According to your reply in the release notes topic, you received an error 126. Could you check the content ofmmortall wrote:I tried just empty project. We got just 2 errors regarding OctaneUnity.dll and octane.dll. No warnings or any log messages.
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Octane\Unity\2017.4.5f1_1.1.1.1337_T{?}
? It should contain the following:
- libfbxsdk.dll
- octane.dat
- octane.dll
- OctaneUnity.dll
- OctaneUnity_1.1.1.1337_T{?}.unitypackage
Yes, we test our Unity builds before we release them. While we do test, we can miss things, and cannot test for all systems. I just did a test with a fresh project using Unity 2017.4.12f1, which worked without issues.mmortall wrote:Did you ever test your plugins before release? THEY ARE NOT WORKING on Unity 2017 LTS.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, we spend several days trying to resolve this issue on 2 machines. And we got lots of issues and bugs before already and we don't see a visible progress from version to version. But for sure we respect your work and hope product will be better after some time.
Regarding the issue here is what I have on my mashine:

I get fresh Octane RC5 installed but I didn't log in there yet and not activate any licenses. Should I do it when I work from Unity Plugin? On the second machine we have licensed Octane there and it runs without any problem. But we have the same error with dlls there.
update:
Here what happens when I am updating from 1322 to 1337:

And every time I press Load Octane I got a message that Octane is not installed and it downloading it again and again. After I restart Unity I got 126 error when loading Octane
I have around 100 GB free on drive C. And only one Unity instance is running. Hope it helps

All data from the plugin is present. Can you check ifmmortall wrote:Thanks for the reply. Sorry, we spend several days trying to resolve this issue on 2 machines. cudnn64_7.dll
is present in either your project (\Assets\Plugins\Octane\
), or in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\OctaneRender\thirdparty\cudnn_7_0_5\
If Octane 4 RC 5 is running fine on your 2nd machine, we at least know that it's not Octane itself that's the issue, or issues with CUDA.I get fresh Octane RC5 installed but I didn't log in there yet and not activate any licenses. Should I do it when I work from Unity Plugin? On the second machine we have licensed Octane there and it runs without any problem. But we have the same error with dlls there.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize that the sharing issue would come up. We made a change in the way we load the dll between 1322 and 1337, which seem to interfere with each other.mmortall wrote:update:

Are you loading Octane before you try the update? I will try here to see if I can fix the issue.

Cool. Glad you can reproduce it. Below some more info:
So I deinstall Octane from Unity. Then I installed the latest Octane Plugin from Assets Store. It is version 1324. Then I just updated to latest 1337 and got sharing violation.
I am updating to the latest NVidia driver 416.6. I have driver 397.44. Maybe it helps.
My GPU info:

Regarding CUDA dll it is presented in "C:\Users\Sergey\AppData\Local\OctaneRender\thirdparty\cudnn_7_0_5" but not presented in "\Assets\Plugins\Octane\"
