C4D Octane R20 support

The studio I work at will be getting R20 as soon as it ships, and I was curious what the road map looks like for Octane support. This build of Cinema is a huge release, and has many features that will come in handy for a current project we are working on. I know some of the other GPU renderers have support already, but haven't really heard much about Octane's yet.

It will take some time to bring a build. Keep your eyes on next releases.

C4D changed its plugin architecture and most plugins aren't ready yet.

It's not a simple task. I'm revisiting almost every parts of plugin while I'm keeping my all attention on stability and error-free convertion. A little patient please!

I woud like to ask: is there anything in the new R20 APIs that make Octane better, faster or more stable? Or do they just make it different?

What do you mean with stable,better or faster? Do you talk about plugin side or core?

hi aoktar,

i have read that the new r20 material node system could maybe be used for octane shader creation.
is this still a possibility, if so, is it a longer term adaptation?
