Here's another handy crosspost, this time from the Octane Blender plugin forum. This script by milanm is a much simpler, and probably more accurate way to extract individual RGB channels from a texture than the method where you multiply by the image by a 100% RGBSpectrum node of the channel you want, then color correct the result. Too bad the OSL color attribute does not support alpha channels, too, or this would be even more useful.
