Hi,

I just bought two Aorus 1080ti xtreme but I found out that the card is too wide (unlike other cards)
When I placed them in 2 pcie-e x16 slot, they were almost touching. Is this okay ? Since there is so less gap between them, will there be heating issue ? I am getting 60degree when rendering with 1 card with my 5 years old system which is good I think. But I am afraid the temp will rise to 80+ if they are this close without enough air flowing space.

My current system doesn't support 2 cards to test out because i only have 750w psu. So I'm thinking to buy new system as follows.

psu : 1000w
cpu: intel i7 7820x (28lanes)
motherboard : X299 AORUS Ultra Gaming (rev.1.0)

I am thinking to buy this above configuration only because there was not enough space. Previously I was thinking about:
cpu : 8700K (16lanes)
mobo: z370 gaming pro carbon

But the z370 mobo only had 3 pci slots and the last one is useless because the cpu case / chassis don't have enough space.:(

Now since X299 aorus ultra gaming mobo has five 16-pci-e lanes, I can put 1st gpu in 1st lane and 2nd gpu in 4th lane instead of 3rd or last slots. , so i can have some space in between. Now I know both cards won't run in x16. But I am hoping one should run in x16 and next should run in x8.. If the 4th lane pci-e lane will not run in x8, there is no use of buying this motherboard. I don't want to run in 4x. :( Or its okay even if it runs in x4 ?

*BTW, I see lots of multi gpu setups images in google, May be it's completely normal and my temp won't rise beyond 60degrees ????
