Octane Cinema4d dev need help
The C4D community is one of the biggest who uses Octane.
we only have one developer who does not have time to answer questions with problems.
Some problems move from one release to another
Ahmet quickly issues integration, there are no questions to him.
But it is not enough to support C4D integration.
Therefore, I suggest to think OTOY how to fix this situation.

«It's the hardest integration» — they said... so why only Ahmet is doing the job?
I'm sure, he works hard, but there's a limit of one person's resources. I do not see another reason why we wait for an update for so long...
Isn't this a shame?

Shame sorry! What's the problem with my work? Who brought it to this situation since zero? When did you wait for updates so long?Dizern wrote:«It's the hardest integration» — they said... so why only Ahmet is doing the job?

Ahmet, you are doing a tremendous work, no one is disputing that. It is not about your work but about the sheer amount of current and coming tasks.aoktar wrote:Shame sorry! What's the problem with my work? Who brought it to this situation since zero? When did you wait for updates so long?
How about the R20 integration? The Windows version is still a test version, the Mac version doesn't exist yet.
How about the integration of the new R20 features? Plus the still ongoing development of v4 and then one day v3.1 (May we live to see the day it arrives ...)
The ever expanding manual for both versions?
And of course - and this one is unfair - sometimes people see Standalone's errors as the plugin's problems.
No one in his sane mind is criticizing the work you did and still do, it is about the day only having 24 hours and some of us fearing that those are not enough hours for one person to do all the work.
But if you say there is no way a "little helper" would ease your work load we have to accept that.

this is not correct, Version 4.0-RC5 (Latest release candidate) 29.09.2018 has already integrated almost all the new R20 features, for both Mac and Win:

ciao Beppe
Both are available as Beppe said. Also I spent more than one month to adopt the whole plugin to R20 changes. I started with some delay due summer time + my private works. It was a special period for me since I started to write the plugin years ago. I'm a bit irritated by people's reaction because most of crashes are not up to plugin work and I'm in the game by my full effort.zoppo wrote: How about the R20 integration? Btw I'm of course honored to see some help effort from you guys. But this is giving a bad side effect and show us as insufficient to do somethings.

I don't know about you but I use Octane almost exclusively for production purposes aka my job.Whilst we have reached the feature lock milestone, we consider this a non-stable release, as we expect to stabilise in preparation for the first stable. Until then, please do not use this for production purposes.
Therefore v4 is nice to have but doesn't really matter to me. What matters is if the production ready stable release is fully integrated in R20.
(Not that it really is important to me as I still can't use 3.08 because of the missing offline mode - not a plugin issue, I know.)
I just tried to help by explaining people's reasoning as I see it, but I understand this is a touchy subject and there seems to be no way to discuss this no matter how careful I try to word my posts.
