i am used to r18 but recently started working with 19.
to my surprise and great joy, now i can actually render in viewport and still have the gizmos visible. thats kind of an game change for me. i love this feature.
couple of questions:
is this an octane introduced feature or something that r19 allowes for?
currently i have to start the live viewer which turns white and the viewport starts being rendered in. this is a bit clunky. can i somehow start the viewport live viewer without having a floating LV open?
best,
rendering in viewport question

Hi,
glad to hear that you are loving the recent Viewport Rendering option.
It is not limited to R19, but it’s a specific feature added in 3.08.x/4.xx plugins.
Instead of loading the Live View, you can call the Octane Dialogue, and enable the Viewport Rendering from the Options menu, just like in Live View, but with a more compact interface: ciao Beppe

fantastic beppe,
i honestly thought this may have been due to the r19 viewport improvements.
very glad to discover its due to octane.
really a complete game changer for me. with the denoising and speed improvements working in octane comes closer and closer to working with a realtime game engine.
i am still suffering from instability and daily crashes but very excited about the future of octane.
thanks

Is it possible to make it separate button?

I'd like to bump this thread, because a dedicated button, i.e. "Render to Viewport" would be super helpful. I docked the Octane Render menu bar just above the viewport and it's relatively quick to click on things and start a render in the viewport, but I do like to use keyboard shortcuts. The only command that can be used is "Start Octane Render", which unfortunately always opens a separate IPR window as well. So, if there'd be a button to just activate and run rendering in the viewport, that'd be great.
