Hi,

I've found this on the octane forum how to create lasers. (viewtopic.php?f=30&t=54802)
It works well, but from the moment it goes over a specular material (example glass) it's not visible anymore. See attach.

I've checked the 'visible on specular', but that doesn't work..

Does anyone knows where this issue comes from?

Thanks,
T

Have you tried applying roughness to the specular material?

My guess is that since it refracts the light perfectly, there are no imperfections to "catch" the laser and make it visible to the camera.

thanks for the feedback,
Do you have an example/screenshot how this material with opacity dirt node looks like?

Best,
