I have posted elsewhare in the forum a simple question which is "will I be able to use all fonctions of the new system, or will there be some separate live options I will have to pay additionaly if I want to use them?"

Could I get an answer please ?

As far as I know everything that is developed under beta and from 1.x until 2.0 is covered under your license payment. The idea of GPU farms and such (and paying an extra fee for it) is just an idea being thrown around at Refractive at the moment.

Yes, but the licence agreement I agreed with didn't precise neither that I would need, in the future, an internet connexion to be able to use Octane.
So, I am prudent and I beging to wonder why Radiance (or someone in his team) doesn't answer that simple question.
Will I be able to use ALL fonctions of the new live system of Octane without the need to pay some extra ? (apart from the render farm of course).

Well, I hope yes.

I think that the LiveDB system will be designed so that pirating the software won't pay off - ie. LiveDB will hold a lot of cosy stuff, that will make your life easier (free materials, emitters... are just a start). Users will then double think the usefulness of cracked versions, and rather pay for the still-cheaper-than-anything-else license.

This system should be ofcourse implemented so that legal buyers are rewarded, not punished with limitations and/or additionally payable stuff. So, based on this logic, I think that is safe to assume there would be no additionally payable functions (possible render farm is another story).

The devs are also very busy currently, hammering v5, so questions can go unanswered.

The system as it is now won't change i.e. we won't charge for live DB material access nor for any of your 'typical' octane usage.

Don't worry.
