Running Octane 3 and 4?
Yes, why not. Put them into separate folders and you are good to go

Not knowing how to do this safely is preventing me from testing 4... possibly some other, too.
@JC @Azen - would you mind providing a step-by-step guide for how to install the V4 server, Blender plugin, Standalone without overwriting stable versions?
Thanks in advance.

You can install one version like 15.2.5, create a folder, copy installed version and server to it. Install v4. Run both at any time.

What i normally do is use a specific folder name during the installation process of both Blender and Server.Whispermode wrote:Not knowing how to do this safely is preventing me from testing 4... possibly some other, too.

For version 4 I always use "BlenderOctane4" and "OctaneServer4".

Work great for me too. Just add a "4" to the installation folders like Lino suggested.

Thanks, everyone - it seems obvious now. I have different versions installed and running smoothly.linograndiotoy wrote:What i normally do is use a specific folder name during the installation process of both Blender and Server.Whispermode wrote:Not knowing how to do this safely is preventing me from testing 4... possibly some other, too.

The only consideration is to have a shortcut to the different server versions so you can start the correct one, when needed.
