Hi! This is the first beta release of the OctaneRender™ 4.0 for LightWave™ plugin version 4.00.0.8, available for LightWave 11.6, 2015.3 and 2018.0 Windows x64 and OSX. This build is compiled using the Octane 4.00 XB3 core.
As with all experimental and test releases, please do not use this build for production work, and please note that we still classify this as an experimental release.
Important notes:
- NVIDIA Driver version 387 or higher is required on Windows and Linux, and any CUDA driver for Mac should work that supports CUDA 9.1.
- Octane no longer supports Fermi GPUs.
- We are still working through a lot of changes required to make Network Render operational. This is directly related to AI Scene and AI Light.
- AI Denoiser will not denoise volumes and hairs yet.
This plugin build has these Octane 4 features available:
- Denoiser options in the Imager node, including several new denoised passes in the Passes node.
- Denoiser device options in the plugin options panel, GPUs tab.
- AI Lights options in the kernel nodes.
- AI Scene and Out of core geometry improvements (no new options to control these features yet).
- New option in the kernels to set the toon shading ambient light.
- Support for the "cast shadows" feature in the toon lights.
- New Nishita daylight model.

What is the name of the .zip file and the plugin .p file that you are trying to install and for what OS? The links seem fine here. If you can't install the plugin, perhaps the problem is related to your NVIDIA drivers, or the lack of the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package.AndyM1969 wrote:Just confirmed the plugin listed as 2018 is NOT for 2018 but is for 2015, if you try and load it you get 'Plugin not found or can not be loaded' in 2018. Can we get the correct plugins please.
Does anybody else have this problem?
Thanks,
-Juanjo
The readme (and near all the other Octane system files) are the same in all the .zip files (it is true that the readme file has not been updated to include the LW2018 support, but this doesn't matter) ... but inside the LightWave 2018 .zip file the plugin .p file name is "LWOctane_4.0_2018.0_x64.p" (as you can see in the attached image), while in the LightWave 2015 .zip file it is "LWOctane_4.0_2015.3_x64.p", so they are the right ones.
I've just checked the 2018 build here and it works fine. What LW2018 version are you using?
Thanks,
-Juanjo
