Hi Juanjgon,

Sorry I'm still not getting this. Please take a look at the attached image and tell me if I have the Render Target set up wrongly - certainly nothing is being saved in the destination folder.

On the DJV-View, how is it assigned to work with Octane - I haven't been able to find a reference in the manual?

Thanks

Hmm, I'm not sure if these blank spaces are compatible with the file names. Can you please remove them and try again?

The DJV application is an external viewer to open EXR and other image files. Once loaded, it has an option to select the render pass stored inside a multi-layered EXR file.

Thanks,

Hi Juanjgon,

I finally have a result and have attached a screenshot of the dialogue box with the settings. After you mentioned that the LW viewer doesn't display the passes I went instead to the designated folder and behold, there they were!

Please could you explain what you meant by "I'm not sure if these blank spaces are compatible with the file names".

Thank you for your help.

David

You have set as filename prefix "Sea Reflection test" ... I'm not sure if the blank spaces in this prefix could be a problem, perhaps not, but you should use something like "Sea_Reflection_test" (with underscores, not blanks) for example.

I also had a similar trouble.
I had used adobe photoshop to check EXR file, that was not good.
Photoshop don't recognize layers in EXR that be produced by the plugin.

panphoto, Did you try djv_view?

juanjgon, In my case an EXR file had 2 rendered frames and its layers.
The first frame has only Main Pass. The second frame has be compositted.
This is not same result of Octane Standaone's.
So I'd like to ask you, what/how do the plugin produces 2 frames onto single EXR-file for?

Sorry, two rendered frames with all its passes in only one EXR file? I'm not sure if this is possible. The EXR format is designed to hold only one frame on each file, as far as I know, so for multiple frames you should render multiple EXR files. Perhaps I'm not understanding your question ...

Hi Roentgen,
Here's a screen-grab of my settings. The IPR shows the selection of Reflection and Layer 1 underlined in red prior to F9 render. The LW render window shows nothing of the render. However the desired render placed itself in the Passes File/Prefix directory setup in the first panel. This setup isn't perfect because as well as the file I want I get 2 others that I don't need so I just delete those. Hope this helps. Perhaps Juanjgon can correct my errors?

Well, if you have two or more layers, each one is going to be rendered in an EXR file (one for each defined layer) with all the enabled passes. Currently you can select the passes rendered for each layer, if this is your question.

Hmm that's strange a bit... there are a multi-frames EXR-file that the LW-plugin produced, aren't there...?
... Oh, I now understood.
When the LW-plugin produces (basename)_multiLayer_0000.exr and (basename)_multiLayer_0001.exr, then djviewer will present this as a two-frame animation.
This was not the plugin's behavior.

Thanks for your help!
