I'm trying to port a scene over from Vray to see how the new release deals with glass/liquids. Having an odd problem with one object in particular showing up as if it has a bump map on it - see link below for a screen cap.
No bump on the material, and it's a straight editable poly exported from Max via the script (through 32bit max). Other objects seem okay. Any clues as to how to get around this?

I tried exporting this same model out of Max manually and importing it into Octane on its own and it works just fine. Something going on with the plugin maybe, or with multiple meshes maybe?

Googling around I found out about the scene unit problem and that appears to be the issue (modeling in cm, although I exported manually at .01 scale so it should have been fine). This seems to be related to the Max2Octane script though - I think it exports ok manually.
This was done with 32bit Max 2011 - I can't get 64 Bit to work at all with the exporter.

thats true..it is the unit scale problem..I had the same issue earlier...cause octane defaults the scale in meters I presume...try exporting with different unit system

I did but it didn't help. I exported with the scene units as meters and as centimeters but the problem was the same.

K - think I figured out what I was doing wrong: I changed the Max *display* units, but the scene units were still in cm.
That seems to have fixed the bump issue.
