Hello,
I need a few tips to optimize the render time for objects with a glass or xray material. What should I put attention on. Render times increase from 1 minute to 8 minutes per Frame just because of the material. The object is a machinery housing.
Best regards

Please, post at least some screenshots of the material setup and Kernel settings, otherwise it is quite difficult to help.

Hi Beppe,
sorry for the delay.
I´ve create a testfile with the settings and material. The original housing is much more complex but maybe you will find some basic failure the I made in the settings or lightning.
Thank you

Hi,
I have a look at the scene, but I don’t see nothing strange.
A transparent material needs more resources/computation to be rendered.
You can increase the Parallel sampling to 16, and Max tile sampling to 32, to reduce a bit the rendering time.
It renders in 5’:21" with one GTX 1070 here, at full resolution and subdivision.
ciao Beppe
