It would be a lot timesaving for me... for my line of work I use 20-30 different mats only and I must tryout witch of them suits all the time.
I would LOVE a Local DB tab next to the Live DB that will help me organise all the way I want without messing with the Live DB.\
I am sure other people need this too.

Thank you for listening

Yeah that would be a good idea. +1
Radiance probably has a book full of To Do ideas now. ;)
Soon he needs another coder....
Lets hope he keeps selling licenses and then upgrades so our wishes come true. :)

Thank you!!!

And here is an additional idea... if I export something to octane with a matterial named "blah blah 32" a node with a specific Local Material is connected automaticaly. Just saying :D

I'll add here a request I already posted. (without proper bug report / feature system, it's impossible to know if the devs acknowledged something or not)

I think it will be useful if we could choose if images get packed in material / texture nodes or just 'linked'. For local filesystem use it would be more practical to not pack images in .ocm, as they can be re-edited without re-creating the file. Thus also preventing redundant copies.

I think you should find some time ( ) to create a proper human clone machine so we can clone, twice at least, the whole Refractive team, so they can acomodate all our wishes....
... besides what are a couple more lines of code! ;)

lol but that great idea of matej?
if the local DB is done then the matej idea is just a couple of lines. Zero lines actually since that could be the default (load link mats). it would take some work to have them packed though

Hi guys,

most probably the local db will be in a first instance done using linked files rather than embedded. Then later on we'll add switches so that both OCS & Local Material can be switched to be embedded or linked.

Hi Guys,

Maybe I am blind but I can't find the Local DB tab anywhere!!! And it is definitely shown in the latest manual for version 2.3. Am I missing something here or has this not yet been implemented?

Thanks for you help!

Hey, there's no local DB yet in any released versions...
