Commandline Error: application crashed

When rendering C4D scenes with Octane on our farm (i.e. Commandline), sometimes after all the frames have rendered we see this:

Error: application crashed
C4DUnhandledExceptionFilter: writing exception info
C4DUnhandledExceptionFilter: writing call stacks

And then the process never exits, so the farm doesn't move on to the next task. Any idea why?
