Last night I ran into issues when attempting to export a scene from Blender 2.49b. The camera name had been changed from the default "Camera" and I was getting "Camera Invalid" messages from the Octane export script.

I tried using the button on the script interface to fill in the name when the camera object was selected. This didn't fix the error. So I started messing with renaming the object(OB) as well as the camera(CAM) names for the camera in Blender. Eventually, I named the OB and CAM for the camera to the exact same name and I was able to export.

I wish I could track down the error better for you, but I'm at my office now and don't have access to my Octane machine at the moment. Hopefully this gives you enough information to replicate the problem.

On a side-note, I attempted to search the forums here with the keywords "camera" and "name" and the search function crapped out telling me that those terms are "too common" to be useful as search terms. Lame. ;)

Keep up the great work, guys!

I also had the same issue and I also had no time to dig into it that much :)

It looks like both datablocks must have the same name. The "select" button takes the name from CA, but on export it complains if OB is not the same. If CA is not the same as what is written in the script filed, exporting fails with an python exception.
