Thanks! It gets really great reviews. Now if they only issued a 2GB version...

BTW Matej, how is your Gainward in terms of noise and temperature?
Temp is max 72C on full load. I did not overclock it.
I have a high tower with one vent on the front pushing air in, an another on the back pushing hot air out - a pretty common setup.

The noise is negligible, really. Just a tad above system fans when working on full load.

It costs roughly 230 euros here (in Poland). I don't know if it's cheaper or more expensive than anywhere else.

Just don't throw the 6600 away - you'll need it for running the monitor, while the 460 will render in Octane.

Gainward, GS, 2GB?
Just go for it, I paid 40EUR more, 1 month ago... Slovenia, Balkan salaries & European prices

I'm keeping the old card, thanks for the tip.

245e is what it costs in most of the shops. I don't think you can save much importing it from some different country. Which would be really nice since it's so easy nowadays.

The lowest European price I have seen is for the Palit GTX 460 Sonic 2GB (2048MB GDDR5) at 236E including 19% VAT.

So if you use it professionally it will cost you just below 200E.

If you compare that to even the cheapest i7 the render performance increase is extreme with the combination of Octane and this card.
