Hi folks,

I've just transitioned to the latest LW 2108.0.3 and Octane RC3 and have got this strange issue with leaves going black / shading error.

RC02 - is fine

RC2_02.jpg
RC03 - is messed up

Scene files included if anyone wants to confirm this.

Cheers

But then again. Adkkda, the IOR of glossy now defaults at 1.3, which is why it works that way. Put it back to 1 and bingo.

Thanks for checking this out alexos, much appreciated.
Nope,I get zero difference here putting IOR to 1.
It looks exactly the same at all IOR's ?

This is a closeup of the difference between RC2 and RC3 with some textures for context.

RC2

RC3

It seems like the backside of the polygons isn't getting any illumination from the environment nor anywhere for that matter?

Ok , but how the heck would you drive the reflectiveness of something with an IOR of 1 ? Sorry if I'm missing something here.

This problem can be related to a bug found in the RC3 glossy material:

Thanks for confirming that Juanjo.

I was about to do another round of tests and scenes just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating so can spend my time more productively now.

Cheers
