Oh man, my mouth is watering for that uber material! Can't wait for a hassle free system between octane and substance... Next up is getting UDIM support and continuous displacement! Well done guys! Really like this iteration!

What is the deal with that bookcase scene that is showed in the V4 promo scenes, I haven't seen any scene I have tried to render go like that. Did that scene have materials baked into the mesh, and then it is hitting the mesh with raytrace lighting, or some other feature to get it to render that fast, like a 1 giant material map?
If that is a scene where each book or furniture piece and everything is an individual mesh with its own material, can we test it out to see what settings are used, because it's fast!
(Or is it just low resolution in that demo?...)

Curiously yours,

two weeks out and no C4D release?

I heard Jules say on the Brograph podcast that the C4D plugin was by far the most used Octane plugin. Which is obvious. So then why was aoktar as surprised as the rest of us when it got released? Honestly he's as big a part of Octane as anyone else. How hard would it be to loop him in earlier and have a C4D version ready the same day as a standalone release? Or honestly any other plugin that has a lot of users?

They are porting over the new Version to all the plugins, itll take some time.
Not only that but as u can see in the standalone, they need to get the kinks out with the denoiser etc before even rolling it out to the plugin counterparts

Im waiting as well, but Id rather everything be working when I use it rather than racking my brain on using an incomplete or non functional version.

Though an estimated date for any kind of BETA c4d plugin would be nice. Im mainly interested in how much more efficient it is with loading things in now, since even with 3.08 + 3 GTX 1080TI's
It takes awhile to load in my 1 character from Zbrush and it would crash if I added too much more to said character

But the current versions are terrible with memory and geometry loads. So Thats what id love to test out!

V4 Plugin SDK will go out to devs with V4 XB2, which fixes a ton of bugs - all worth fixing ahead of DCC integration work.

Strangely using another camera for a different angle of view, I got the exactly same splotch pattern on a different area.

Edit : It occurs even with 50 or 20 samples

Currently, I'm collecting scenes where denoiser not able to denoise properly. I would like to test the scene and add it to training set if needed. Could you please send me the scene?.
