As I can see AVX instructions are bound to CPU not GPU.rashadcarter wrote:Titan was first released in 2013. I got this black splotch in an area of my denoised image after 500 samples. The problem doesn't occure if I use let's say only 50 samples.
Strangely using another camera for a different angle of view, I got the exactly same splotch pattern on a different area.
Edit : It occurs even with 50 or 20 samples

AI Light not working.
When I load scene, AI light not activated. I Change "No node" to default and check AI light and Octane stop render and I get GPU all failed. What am I doing wrong?

Scene exported from 3ds MAX to ORBX. How can I move Object Layers? I cant connect "Placement" to it.

Aha! Thanks for unraveling that for me!

Hi ramone163,
the Placement node can be used with Mesh nodes, not with Object Layer nodes.
So you need a scene with independent mesh nodes, to be able to use the Placement node and move, rotate, and scale your mesh nodes.
If you can export only a single .abc mesh node, as a workaround, you can make a first export with camera and static objects, then export only the movable objects one by one, unpack the .orbx, and import back the single .abc mesh nodes one by one in the first exported scene, connected with a Placement node.
ciao Beppe

That sounds pretty awesome!
But i've got a little question.
I've purchased Octane Version 2 when i first got it, upgraded to Version 3 but didn't knew that i also had to purchase it, so i did.
Will this be the same if i upgrade from my Version 3 to Version 4? Because right now i have no option to purchase anything online and don't just want to stuck with the Octane Demo.
So i thought, before i start downloading it, i would like to be sure if i have to purchase an upgrade from V3 to V4 or not as i saw on another forum that octane 3 users will get a free upgrade to V4 while first users have to pay a monthly subscription of 20$, so just wanted to ask if that's right?

Hi ChrisFox,
since your situation is not properly clear, I have sent you a PM.

Will AI light work with Black body emission material? As I understand, now it is not working.
